Basic Information About Our Waterslide Decals

There are two main methods of printing waterslide media. The first is for applying to white substrates. This is suitable for full-colour artwork (CMY & Black AND White Toner). 

White only designs don't need under printing either as the white toner is more opaque than the CMY toners and will still show up well on dark substrates. 

If you are applying your transfers to anything other than white substrates then you must order the white underprinting type. This prints a layer of white underneath the artwork before printing the CMY full-colour design over the top. The white under printing ensures your artwork/transfers will show up clearly on dark substrates. If you're unsure, you can still order the white underprinting as these will work in all cases, on any colour substrate whatever your artwork consists of :)

Please ensure you follow the artwork setup requirements as detailed on the product pages. Which in summary is min 300dpi setup for the page size you're ordering with a 10mm clear margin all around. Ideally saved as a .png with a transparent background. ALL white in your artwork will be printed, including white backgrounds so if you want a transparent background, you must provide the artwork with transparency. 

PDF and SVG and other formats are accepted, but there's more scope for error here, so ensure all artwork including fonts is converted to curves. 

If you know a lot about this print process and have very specific requirements, then drop us an email with your order number (or add a note to seller during checkout if it's brief) and feel free to specify the settings you need.

Please note, the above doesn't apply for our metallic waterslides. These are printed in a single colour (black) with a transparent background and the black is converted to the metallic colour of choice on the sheet during our unique print & pressing process. Only one colour per sheet can be made and we can't combine colour print with metallics either, though you could order a sheet of each and layer them yourself :)

The White backing custom decals come out really nicely. They are a soul provider of a decals I use in my model business. As a hobbyist these decals. They have vibrant colours and detail isn't lost from converted from Adobe Illustrator to PDF.

If could ever find a way to have the protect film just over the decals these could definitely complete against major brands

Terrific quality. I was concerned about definition but the smallest detail was faithfully reproduced. Have used IJ printed decals before for my scale models and was disappointed, but as these metallics were impossible for inkjet I tried third party production and they are definitely well worth it.

I make guitars. I wanted a custom decal for the headstock of a new bass. I designed the image and sent the jpeg to Phoxy and almost by return of post the decal arrived. It fits perfectly and was very easy to apply. A couple of coats of clear lacquer sealed it well. Perfect. Thanks so much for you help

Small Transfers great Detail smooth around curves

Designed a lot of Space Marine shoulder pad iconography for my custom chapter. Sent the sheet to phoxy they came out superbly. Really easy to apply as they slipped off the sheet really quickly. They took Microsset and Microsol well and smoothed over the curved and rounded contours of shoulder pads superbly. Genuine joy to apply. Will be using again, cheers.
